The Opportunity
To support our growth and development of additional service offerings to benefit organisations across the globe, we are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Strategic Growth Consultant to join our team. The Strategic Growth Consultant will be responsible for developing new customer relationships, helping organisations achieve great outcomes with their technology, and meeting sales targets for those opportunities to contribute to the overall growth of the company. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a supportive environment with uncapped commission, and to be part of a significant growth journey in the fast-moving technology space.
Responsibilities and Requirements
- New Business Acquisition: Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities in the mid-market sector (companies with 20+ employees), with a focus on cybersecurity and generative AI services.
- Solution Selling: Leverage a consultative sales approach to understand client needs and pain points, positioning our services as the ideal solution.
- Market Intelligence: Stay informed about industry trends, including cybersecurity threats, AI technologies, and emerging business needs, particularly in the construction, healthcare, and professional services sectors.
- Sales Cycle Management: Be involved in the complete sales cycle, from working with our Marketing team in lead generation through to deal closure, ensuring all stakeholders are engaged, and the process is efficient and aligned with customer expectations.
- Relationship Building: Build and nurture strong, long-term relationships with C-level executives and key decision-makers in target industries. Good to list but not really part of the role – we want them to stay focused on the next new win
- Collaboration: Work closely with our Technical and Marketing teams to ensure that solutions are delivered effectively and aligned with client expectations.
- Revenue Growth: Drive aggressive growth through new client acquisition, while meeting or exceeding sales targets and KPIs.
- Proven Sales Experience: A strong track record in B2B sales, ideally in the IT services space. Experience with Managed Service Providers (MSP) and selling solutions like cybersecurity and generative AI is highly advantageous.
- Industry Knowledge: Deep knowledge of the New Zealand business landscape; familiarity in sectors such as construction, healthcare, and professional services would be a plus.
- Technical Acumen: Proficiency in the Microsoft stack and cybersecurity solutions, including knowledge of multi-layered cybersecurity frameworks and corporate governance. Familiarity with generative AI solutions is a plus.
- Sales Expertise: A solid understanding of sales cycles, customer pain points, and solution selling methodologies, with the ability to quickly understand and address customer needs.
- Passion for Success: A highly driven, self-motivated individual with a passion for achieving sales success and being rewarded financially based on performance.
- Client-Centric Mindset: Strong ability to understand business challenges and deliver IT solutions that result in measurable business outcomes for clients.
Experience and Background
- Experience: A background in B2B sales or a related role, preferably within the IT industry, or other commercial experience.
- Skills: Strong communication, negotiation, and presentation skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Comfortable navigating complex sales processes and engaging with key decision-makers in executive-level discussions. Adept at overcoming objections and closing deals in a competitive market.
- Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with IT services, cloud computing, cybersecurity, and managed services, particularly in selling to the construction, healthcare, and professional services sectors.
- Target-Oriented: Proven track record of meeting and exceeding sales targets.
- Problem-Solving: Excellent problem-solving skills with a customer focused approach.
Day to Day
- Engage with Customers through meetings, calls, and emails to understand their needs and provide tailored IT solutions.
- Collaborate with internal teams to develop and implement strategies for Customer retention and business growth.
- Monitor and track sales performance against targets, adjusting as needed to achieve goals.
- Prepare and deliver compelling presentations and proposals to Customers.
